Situated along the borders of Virginia and North Carolina, Lake Gaston is 37 miles long, has 350 miles of shoreline and crosses five counties in both states.

Created in 1963 as a hydroelectric power source, Lake Gaston is owned and controlled by Dominion Resources. They regulate water levels, waterfront development and all issues that pertain to the health of the lake.

There are currently 254 subdivisions around Lake Gaston as well as multiple eateries and shops to suit any taste. The Eaton Ferry Bridge crosses the center of the lake, I-85 crosses the western end and I-95 cross the eastern end.
